Urban Partnership Bank was founded with a mission to build vibrant urban neighborhoods and promote economic and environmental sustainability in distressed and underserved communities. While at Crosby Associates, I had the unique opportunity of developing an identity for a completely new financial institution that had no existing brand affiliation. We created a complete brand program detailing all aspects of the bank’s presence internally and externally, including electronic communications, printed documents, and advertising.

A logo inspired by the urban city grid is uniquely Chicago and expresses the bank’s mission to be the jewel of the neighborhood.

Working closely with the architecture and interior design teams, unique experiential designs were created for bank branches and an exterior signage system was developed.

Through interviews and analysis, we created a mission statement to define the bank’s brand positioning and prominently incorporated the message into retail locations.

A custom pattern, based on the logo, reinforces the brand though various points of contact including ATM machines, bank branches, and envelope security patterns.
